Since both France and Turkey took their comfortable victories during the evening, Iceland had to win in Albania in order not to slip behind in the top.

Albania took the lead twice where Gylfi Sigurdsson and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson succeeded in acknowledging Iceland.

But Albania got all three points after two late goals, with Odise Roshi making 3-2 in the 78th minute. Sokol Cikalleshi punctured the match five minutes later.

This means that Iceland is now three points behind Turkey and France. Now France and Andorra are waiting for the next meeting.
