NPB Japan Professional Sports Association withdraws from compliance issues September 10 0:01

NPB = Japan Baseball Organization, which oversees professional baseball, has announced that the affiliated “Japan Professional Sports Association” has decided to withdraw from the association as having a problem with organizational management as a public interest incorporated foundation.

The Japan Professional Sports Association was established for the purpose of developing professional sports. In addition to the NPB, the J League = Japan Professional Soccer League and the Japan Sumo Association, etc., each year, commend the most active professional sports players and organizations every year. Hosts the “Japan Professional Sports Award”.

NPB has been a member of the Association's predecessor, the Professional Sports Liaison Council, for more than 50 years, but the Japan Professional Sports Association has a problem in organizing its organization as a public interest foundation. I decided to leave and sent a notice to that effect to the association.

In particular,
▽ The association has never held a councilor meeting since November last year,
▽ Ototoshi In December, the government office of the Public Interest Certification Committee, etc. pointed out that there was no improvement even though an on-site inspection pointed out a compliance problem.

NPB says that “it is important to ensure thorough compliance and cannot support as a member organization any more”, and there is no influence on professional baseball by leaving.

The Japan Professional Sports Association says, “We have received documents from NPB, but we have reviewed the contents and cannot comment at this stage.”
