Luka Modric gave the Croatians the lead on penalty in the eleventh minute, but with 20 minutes remaining Tamkin Khalilzade was responsible for the match's performance. The 26-year-old got the ball just outside the penalty area and despite a handful of opponents around, he ran straight through the defensive wall and pressed the receipt.
