Next week, Pontus Tidemand makes its third World Cup start this year in the WRC when this year's eleventh World Cup competition is decided in Turkey. 28-year-old Tidemand and map reader Ola Flöene drive a Ford Fiesta WRC for M-sports just as earlier this year and can already look forward to another World Cup start in the highest class in October.

- A rally is not a rally, it has to be put into a bigger plan so I get the opportunity to step forward without starting at zero every time. Wales is a competition that suits me well and that I have several good memories from. I have driven there three times in WRC 2 and won once and finished second the other times. There will be something different now with the WRC car but it will be exciting to see what I can do, says Pontus Tidemand in a press release

Need "work peace"

- It is very gratifying and necessary that Pontus now gets two WRC contests in a row. It is important to get the right conditions so that he gets into the car and gets up to speed. He needs "work peace" in a pressured position for competition and the standard in WRC is extremely high right now, a brake on the wrong place and you are behind on the road. That's how tough it is, says SVT Sports rally expert Jonas Kruse.

M-sports team manager Richard Millener is also looking forward to following the 28-year-old during his upcoming two starts in the WRC.

- It is great that Pontus has another event with our Ford Fiesta WRC and another opportunity to show what he can do at the highest level of the sport. He belongs to the next generation and I think all factory teams are excited to see how he develops during these two events. We know how competitive he was in WRC 2, especially in Wales, and I look forward to watching his progress in the coming weeks, ”said M-Sports team manager Richard Millener in a press release.

Kruse hopes for three in a row

Tideman and card reader Ola Flöene has run a test for two days ahead of the competition next week. With a start in Turkey and Wales secured, expert Kruse is now hoping for even more opportunities for Tidemand in the WRC this fall.

- I also hope he gets the chance to drive in Spain, that would mean three races in a row and a good opportunity for him to show that he is worthy of a permanent seat for next season, says Jonas Kruse.
