“If such a decision was made, then I’m very happy for my client, as well as for the Kokorin brothers, relatives of the players, all the fans and people worried about them,” the Championship quotes the lawyer.
He noted that the issue of the release of athletes was considered quickly enough, and also spoke about his intention to appeal the verdict in the future.
“We believe that national methods of protection will be enough for us to bring the sentence in line with the requirements of the law and the circumstances that should be taken into account when considering the case,” Bushmanov added.
On October 11, 2018, Mamaev, Kokorin, his brother Kirill and Alexander Protasovitsky were arrested on charges of beating the head of the department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Pak, as well as the driver of TV presenter Olga Ushakova Vitaly Solovchuk.
On September 6, 2019, the court granted the request for the release of the Kokorins and Mamaev brothers in parole.
Earlier, lawyer Vyacheslav Barik said that the decision to release the Kokorins and Mamaev would enter into force on September 17.
