There was good pressure in the barn in Augsburg, and not even Luleå's early 1-0 goals through the talent Noel Gunler changed that. Without the audience, the German team highlighted, and after just over half the first period came the receipt.

It was a target hanging in the air. The home team had pressed hard in the PP, and among other things had a rock hard shot in the post, before the goal finally came through Matthew Fraser.

Target second period

Augsburg then continued to push for a lead goal in the first period, but David Rautio held tight. And in the second period it was a completely different away team that came out on the ice. Just 49 seconds into the period, Arttu Ilomäki made it 2-1, and just over two minutes later Jonas Berglund extended the lead to 3-1.

Although Augsburg approached when David Stieler reduced to 2-3 with two and a half minutes left, Luleå continued to score. Only 70 seconds later Robin Kovac's goal was scored, and silenced the audience who had suffered a bleeding tooth after the reduction.

Augsburg came back

In the third, Luleå controlled the game well at first. But Augsburg pressed on and eventually received a dividend. And it wasn't just once, but the team managed to get holes on Rautio twice over, and the match went to extension.

But unlike the first meeting, it was Luleå who got the extra points this time when Petter Emanuelsson found a gap behind Markus Keller in the Augsburg goal.
