The biathlon world mourns the deceased Halvard Hanevold, who was found dead in his home. The cause of death is still unclear. But the passing has been noticed in the biathlon world.

Former teammate Ole Einar Björndalen is also among those mourning.

- I am deeply saddened by the news of Halvard Hanevold's death. When I was young, he was one of the role models. 2010 was a great honor for me as a young boy to compete in the same race as him at the Vancouver Olympics, writes Sjipulin.
