It was when a television helicopter swept over the cyclists at the end of the eighth stage last Saturday that a camera suddenly caught a marijuana plantation on a rooftop in the city of Igualada outside Barcelona.
Catalan police launched an investigation after the TV images went viral on social media and finally police were able to strike and seize about 40 plants. No person was arrested in the raid and police are still searching for the owners of the cultivation.
