The Swedish gentlemen took a planned victory in their team EM premiere in the afternoon. 18-seeded Hungary became an easy match for Sweden, which is ranked second.

Jon Persson started the game against Adam Szudi. Persson easily controlled the first set with his fast play.

"It's fast and stable, Szudi doesn't keep up with the pace," commented expert David Gustafsson.

After a slightly worse third set, Persson was able to tie the sack in the fourth and give Sweden a 1-0 lead.

Tough for Falck

Swedenettan, as well as the World Cup two, Mattas Falck got a little tougher introduction. Bence Majoros played at the top level and took home both the first and third sets. In the fourth, the 22-year-old Hungarian added another switch and won convincingly by 11-5 and leveled to 1-1 in matches.

17-year-old Truls Möregårdh then got a little more pressure on him than many thought. But the young star shot showed that he has no problems with the nerves. Möregårdh won its match by 3-1 against Tamas Lakatos.

The revenge came

Mattias Falck got the chance to revenge himself. In the fifth match he was also set against Adam Szudi and well there Falck showed some really nice play at times but also a lot of sloppy. The match was smooth, but it was Falck who had the best nerves. 11–6 in the fifth set Sweden won the victory.

"Ping pong Candy"

To move on from the group stage, Sweden must win its group. In the next match, Romania awaits, a team that expert David Gustafsson holds a little higher than Hungary.

- I think Romania is more exciting and a little better.
