This spring, the Austrian took his eighth straight win in the overall Alpine Cup. And the 30-year-old also has two Olympic golds and seven World Cup golds on the track record. That track record is something that Tobias Hellman thinks makes Hirscher one of the greatest of all time.

- It can be said that Ingemar Stenmark is the biggest. However, Marcel Hirscher has taken these victories in modern times. And given how tight the sport has become, and the sport at large. Margins have decreased very much. So with that said, Hirscher has made an achievement that I think is as great as Ingemar Stenmarks.

Leaves a large void left behind

And over the years, the 30-year-old has become a bigger and bigger profile in the alpine world. And now Tobias Hellman thinks there will be a big void when he leaves.

- There is really no real icon left on the men's side then. It is Henrik Kristoffersen who will try to fill this void, but Marcel Hirscher has been the alpine world on the men's side.

But filling Hirscher's shoes, and becoming the alpine host's big star, will not be easy for Kristoffersen.

- Right now, nobody can fill his shoes. Kristoffersen goes slalom and big slalom, but I don't really have what it takes to come up with 68 wins like Hirscher. Hirscher has really been something extra special.
