In May, bike star Emilia Fahlin, who turned four at the World Cup team tempo race last year, crashed during a training session in Spain. The crash resulted in a powerful concussion, which has kept her away from competitors ever since.

Now she's back in training, but still feeling the concussion.

- I know a little bit of things from it, which is why I have been very careful. I am a little tired, and feel with focus and such that it is not the same sharpness in everything as it usually is, she tells SVT Sport, and continues:

- So I definitely still feel things from the concussion. So you have to be alert to how much you can handle.

Is not stressed

Fahlin has no competition scheduled, and therefore does not expect to start in the World Cup, which starts in England on September 22.

- In the normal situation, I will not travel more during the season. If there is any race, or the World Cup, it will be a bonus. I have to accept the situation as it is, there is nothing that I can stress about, ”she says.

Crucial week

One thing that makes the World Cup feel a bit off for her is that there are quite a few races on the calendar ahead of the World Cup. And make a run before a possible World Cup, she really wants to.

- If the World Cup is to be relevant then I have to test to run some race before the World Cup. It is the toughest one-day race you can drive. So you have to get back to the cluster before then, when everyone stands tagged to a thousand, she says, and develops:

- Just for myself, that I get to know what it's like to sit in a cluster. When you haven't done it in a long time, and now that I feel this way with focus and stuff ... I have to feel that it works.

When will you decide on the World Cup?

- Hard to say. This week, which is now, will be quite decisive in how things are going. But I haven't set a date yet, but I will talk to my coach and the league captain and hear what he says.
