Last Friday, gymnastics star Simone Biles's brother was arrested for a murder that happened in Cleveland during New Year's Eve. The shooting killed three people, injured several, and according to multiple media reports, must have been due to a group of uninvited guests raping a party that subsequently degenerated into a brawl.

In a tweet written on Monday, she says for the first time about the event.

"Respect my family's privacy"

"I still have trouble processing last week's news," she writes on Twitter. “My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families. There is nothing I can say that will cure anyone's pain, but I want to express my sincere condolences to everyone involved. ”

Her brother is charged with, among other things, murder, murder and robbery.

"I want everyone to respect my family's privacy while dealing with the pain," she continues.
