Former coach Joel Cedergren was allowed to leave Gif Sundsvall last Friday after a heavy season where the team is firmly anchored at the bottom of the all-Swedish table.
Tony Gustavsson comes from a job as assistant coach in the US women's national team, which he and Jill Ellis brought to the World Cup gold this summer. He has also taken Olympic gold with the USA in 2012, even then as assistant to Pia Sundhage.
The last time he coached a team in the men's Swedish was 2007-2009 when he led Hammarby.
