Ilyasov reached the finals in the 100 kg weight category, in which he lost to the Portuguese Jorge Fonseca.

The Dutch medalist Michael Correl and the Japanese Aaron Wolf became the bronze prize-winners of the competition.

Last year, Ilyasov took third place at the World Cup.

Previously, Natalya Kuzyutina became the silver medalist of the World Judo Championship in the category up to 52 kg.
