- You have lost your grip on the management, so you basically have a wiped-out management team and are forced to panic solutions with a short horizon ahead to just manage the business as it has been before and then you lose a future focus and you lose many development years like skiing needs in Sweden, says SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist.

Blomquist believes that the association is in a unique position as Sweden has, perhaps, the world's best ladies country in cross-country skiing and the interest in cross-country skiing is great. The fact that the federal director and the board are not able to link the administrative, management functions and visions is really worrying for the future. When Lars Selin, who is in charge of education, and Karin Ersson, who is head of education, will for a period now also serve as national team managers, this is done, among other things, at the expense of the development, especially the men's side, says Blomquist.

- This means that they ( Selin and Ersson, eds note ) lose focus on what is also very, very important for them: to be involved in developing Swedish cross-country skiing, something that skiing needs. It is not at all good for Swedish skiing. I hope this turbulence does not affect the A team. But it is clear that the development, especially on the men's side, where we have a huge challenge to develop new talented talents who receive support all the way to the hostility, where we will lose pace.

Given that many people have left or have been forced to leave their assignments within the union, Blomquist wants to see more clarity and openness and that the union becomes more transparent about what is happening.

- It was no surprise that the union would get a situation where you partially needed new people working in the management. The fact that one is then too far away, that the federal director and the board are not aware of what is happening so that they are forced into emergency solutions almost on the way into the season is too bad, says Blomquist.

- The mud wrestling that is happening in the media now before the open curtain, it is clear that you want someone in charge to stand up and take responsibility for what happens and becomes clear. This is not good for those people or for skiing Sweden, but you are clear on what is happening, why it is happening and this is how the road ahead looks, he continues.
