Several sources for SVT Sport testify that the basis for the departure of national team manager Jonas Peterson is a schism between the ramparts and the riders.

One who chose to come forward and tell about the situation is SOK's ski grinder Lorentz Söderhielm.

SVT Sport has also been in contact with the union director Ola Strömberg who does not want to confirm the information. Strömberg also does not want to comment on the information that Jonas Peterson should have managed to kick two runners.

- The answer I have given earlier is what I will give now as well. We had different views on how the business should develop. We had too many differences and then we decided to go different ways. What details and areas I will not go into.

You who sit at the top of the union should have an overview of what is happening below you and must have known that it cracked in the joints between the ramparts and the riders?

- Good question. I know exactly what has happened and has not happened. I have full control over what has worked and what challenges have existed, but I will not review anything here. In the end, we have come to do things separately and there are reasons for that. What reasons do we keep for ourselves? There is nothing that we want to vent to the public.

A lot of attention

If you want to go on the information that we have been given and which is confirmed by Lorentz Söderhielm, one wonders how much influence the ramparts have around the national team?

- I can't comment as much on what Lorentz has said. Partly I do not know what he has said and then he also does not have an insight into the whole situation because he did not talk to me and do not know the reasons why Jonas and we have gone different ways, says Strömberg.

You did an evaluation earlier this year - what did it come to?

- We do evaluations after each season and then there are points on how to improve the business to develop. Everything from purely training things to communication and herding. It is feedback that comes from people in the business, including the riders. It's the way we keep ourselves tight.

How do you look at the huge attention that is currently on the national team?

- Some may think that all PR is good pr. This situation creates a lot of attention because the national team is so popular. What I want to communicate is that we have a team of people around the national team who are very senior and have a lot of experience to know exactly what it takes to be able to perform. And sometimes recruits do not work as in the case of Jonas. I do not feel any concern in general and attention must be taken. I expect the media to write when things are going well and when things like this happen.

How do you move on from here?

- We have already moved on. We are prepared and have made a decision on two new national team managers who have been involved in the operation before. Now we focus on the high altitude camp that will come and prepare the riders as best as possible.
