JUJITSU has announced the completion of preparations for the start of the new season by holding the first round of the Vice President's Cup, which will be hosted by the People's Village in Sharjah next Saturday, with the participation of about 150 athletes.
Athletes from 16 clubs are participating: Al Ain Club, Al Jazira, Al Wahda, UAE, Al Wasl, Fujairah Martial Arts, AFNT, Baniyas, Ajman, Shabab Al Ahli, Sharjah Sports, Team 777, Commando Group, Al Dhafra, Sharjah Defense Sports. Self and Victory Club.
The tournament is the first activity of the season which will see 18 events, while the second and third rounds will be held on 13 December in Fujairah and 13 March in Dubai. The male championship consists of three categories: junior (under 18), youth (under 21) and men's (over 21), among eight weights between 46 and 94 kg for junior, and six weights between 56 and 110 Kilograms for youth and men. The duration of the junior class is four minutes and five minutes for the youth, while the men are fighting six minutes.
Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice-President of the UAE Federation of Jujitsu, said: `` We are delighted that the new season is a great opportunity for our growing family of jujitsu athletes to learn and develop through friction and competitions, to gain the most experience to qualify for future continental and global benefits. '' Mohammed Al Dhaheri said in a press statement: «The championship is an important stop in the busy sporting season, and is part of the efforts of the Union to consolidate the presence of this noble sport in society, and strengthen the position of the State as a home for the jujitsu».
