Piteå had a bleak trend for the home game against Rosengård. Just one win in the last seven matches, and the team was in dire need of points so as not to risk slipping too far down the table.

And against series-leading Rosengård, who had the chance to create a four-point gap down to second place, it was two teams that created more chances in the first half.

But that was only a goal. In the 40th minute, June Pedersen hit a long corner against Julia Karlernäs at the far post, who reached the top and headed the ball into goal for the second match in a row.

Victory acknowledged

In others, the home team tried to endure, taking the much needed three points. But in the end, it was no longer possible. When Rosengård had a chance to take the lead on 74 minutes, when Piteå's corner kick was used by the defenders. And it was national team star Caroline Seger who found the ball after a few bounces, and was able to put the final score 1-1.

Rosengård now leads the series with two points ahead of Gothenburg.
