The German rally has entered its final day. Overall leader Ott Tänak looks to clinch his fifth win of the season with a lead with just over half a minute down to fellow Brit Kris Meeke. Otherwise, it was Tänak's second match against Belgian Thierry Neuville at the top of the leaderboard that was the big draw on Saturday. But after Neuville went on a puncture in the afternoon, it was free for Ott Tänak to consolidate his lead for the closing Sunday.

- We got a puncture on the left rear wheel. It's a lottery and we were unlucky. It was in the middle of the road so I wasn't where it came from, Neuville said after the race.

Can secure his third straight victory

With only one distance left, Ott Tänak has 25.1 seconds down to Kris Meeke in second place and it takes a lot for the Estonian to fail to secure his third straight victory in the German rally and thus also wipe out his lead in the overall standings. With four rallies left after the German, much is said for the Estonian to secure his first overall victory in the WRC after two straight third places.
