Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah scored twice to lead Liverpool to a 3-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday in the third round of the Premier League.

Joel Matip put Liverpool ahead in the 41st minute and Mohamed Salah added a penalty in the 49th minute before Salah added his second and third for the home side in the 59th minute.

Arsenal scored the winner in the 85th minute through Lucas Torrera to cut the score.

Salah have scored three goals this season to finish third with Burnley's Ashley Barnes, two more than Timo Bucky of Norwich City, who top the scorers with five goals.

Liverpool have nine points at the top of the standings and Arsenal have six points in second place, pending the outcome of the rest of the round.
