This year, Petter Menning has returned from an injury last year where a troublesome elbow disturbed the Swede. Earlier in the World Cup, Petter Menning was in fine form and reached the final with fine times in the qualifying race. Today it was 200 meters final and there were hopes for medals and Olympic qualifiers.

Missed Olympic qualifying with two hundredths

Culture seemed to end somewhat at the start, but after a strong upturn, the Swede seemed to have the chance to pallet. But it was even in the finish and when the results were well presented, Menning had reached a snowy sixth place, only two hundredths up to the Italian Manfredi Rizza who finished fifth, the last place with direct qualification for the Olympics.

The men's times in the qualifiers of 200, 34.50 and 34.36 had in the final reached a gold medal.

Petter Menning may wait until the beginning of 2020 will have another chance to paddle home to the Tokyo Olympics.
