French striker Karim Benzema took the lead for the club eight minutes from time, announcing his second goal of the season.
But just two minutes from time, Sergio Guardiola snatched a fatal equalizer for Valladolid.
In anticipation of the results of the rest of the second round, Sevilla lead the table with six points from two successive wins.
Real are second on four points, just behind third-placed Valladolid.
