Hammarby is one in the elite, and is well on its way back to damall Swede.

But now they are losing their left back, U23 national team player Lotta Ökvist. Today, the club announced that Ökvist is leaving the club to the newcomer in the English supreme league, Manchester United.

- Leaving Hammarby was not an easy decision, and during the summer I have considered both other Swedish and foreign alternatives, for example in Germany and Spain, she says to the club's website, and continues:

- I realized pretty quickly that I didn't want to play for any other Swedish club, and Manchester United feels like the exact right step in my career now. The club showed the greatest interest and it feels like their scouting has been extremely accurate.

Ökvist, who is born in Piteå, came to Hammarby last summer from the American Orlando Pride. During the season she has stood for an impressive nine goals. She has signed on for two seasons, with an option for a third, with Manchester United.
