Strong debut by Antonia Ramel - Sweden third right now

Antonia Ramel made the championship debut and went out first in the Swedish team on Monday.

With 13-year-old Brother de Jeu, she rode 74,223 percent together.

- So good she rode! The only small thing is the last passage. Wonderfully! says SVT's expert Gunilla Byström.

Sweden came in second place after the gold favorite Germany. Britain then moved on and Sweden is now third.

The rider himself exhaled after the debut.

- It was good. He took care of me and listened to me, it is good that we can show that we can keep our nerves in control, ”she tells SVT Sport.

- It is a great relief, it is very nice to have made the first start and got started after all these days on the spot.

Ramel was happy with the percentage, but pointed out that there were things that could have been better.

- We could have made the scissors better, it's a bit of a thing, but it always is, she says.

The union captain Bo Jenå was pleased with the introduction.

- There were no misses, but clearly you might want a little more in the swing, the canter was not the best in the scissors. But a good start, he says.

The big favorite Germany started with a slightly bigger miss. Jessica von Bredow-Werndl's horse Dalera had to go to the toilet in the middle of an end, and stopped first to then gallop a few steps.

It became costly - the percentage fell from 79 to 62. However, Ekipaget picked up well and landed at 76,894 percent and Germany went as expected in the lead.

Second-rider Dorothee Schneider landed at 80,233 percent.

Therese Nilshagen and Dante Weltino are second in the Swedish team. Ekipaget was a member of the bronze team two years ago and she remembers with joy the European Championships at home.

- It inspires really much, it's something that I often use in my mental training that I think back to competitions where things went extra well and then Gothenburg comes up immediately, says Nilshagen and develops.

- This feeling when you got onto the track, the audience clapped even before you came in, so it was so fantastic. I really hope that I will be able to find that condition here, although hopefully even better, says Nilshagen, who rides as a second rider in the Swedish team.
