In PSG, most of it was about Neymar's next club address and other events this summer. Without the superstar on the pitch, they looked lost in their away premiere.

PSG certainly started best and took the lead through Edison Cavani. But he got very good help from Rennes team captain Damien Da Silva. The center-back would fit his goalkeeper but instead served the Uruguayan who could roll the ball into the open goal.

Acknowledged before the break

The metropolitan team looked to go to break with a lead without impressing or creating much forward for that matter. That M´Baye Niang acknowledged shortly before the break was therefore not unfair.

Just a few minutes into the second half, the home team also took the lead. Romain del Castillo sneaked in behind Thiago Silva and nodded 2-1.

Johansson left on the bench

Although PSG established a compact pressure against the opposing goal during the second half of the match, no more goals were achieved. Rennes has full pot in the league after two rounds.

Jakob Johansson sat the entire match on the bench.
