Men's 110m hurdle Takayama is Japan new 13 seconds 25:17 17:32

Shunno Takayama won the 13th and 25th Japan record at the 110m hurdles for men's domestic competition in Fukui City.

Takayama, who marked a new record of 13 seconds 30 in the men's 110 meter hurdle last month, participated in the domestic competition “Athlete Night Games” in Fukui City.

In the race, top players from Japan, such as Juntendo Keisuke Izumiya and Daisuke Kanai, who had the previous record of 13 seconds 36, participated in the race, and the confrontation between the old and new Japanese record holders attracted attention.

Takayama made a good start and took the lead from the beginning with an outstanding hurdle judgment and expanded the lead from the middle to win the championship with a time of 13 seconds 25 under favorable conditions of 1 meter per tailwind.

Takayama updated his record in Japan from 0:05, the new record for Japan following last month.

Second place was Kanai from Fukui, 13 seconds 53, and third place was Izumiya, 13 seconds 53.

Takayama said, “The record is surprised. I thought that I could suppress the first half and not stall in the second half, but it was a good race that way.”
