The Italian Filippo Ganna has won the sixth stage in the BinckBank Tour on Saturday. The 23-year-old Team INEOS rider was the fastest in an individual time trial in The Hague. Jos van Emden was the best Dutchman in third place.
Ganna completed the 8.4 kilometer course in nine minutes and sixteen seconds. He was five seconds faster than his countryman Edoardo Affini. Van Emden admitted eight seconds to the winner.
For Ganna it is his third professional victory in his career. Earlier this year he became Italian time trial champion and won the race against the clock in France in the Tour of Provence.
Tim Wellens retains his leading position in the general classification. The Belgian, who doubled in the fourth stage, is now eight seconds ahead of the Swiss Marc Hirschi.
On Sunday, the BinckBank Tour, which is part of the WorldTour, ends with a hilly stage over 178 kilometers from Sint-Pieters-Leeuw to the Wall of Geraardsbergen.
