For Novak Djokovic, the warm-up is underway for the US Open. Tonight, the Serb was pitted against Frenchman Lucas Pouille in the quarterfinals of the Cincinatti Masters Tournament in Ohio.

Won other sets easily

The last two players met, in the Australian Open seminar, Djokovic released only four clips to the Frenchman in three sets, today he got a little more match. Pouille pressed the world set in the first set that went to a tie-break where Djokovic was still stronger. The second set was easier for the 32-year-old Serbian who, with 7-6, 6-1, is on to semi.

- I thought he (Pouille) played very well in the first set. We kept both our services quite comfortable yet until tie break, I kept my level and never lost focus, Djokovic said after the game.

Clouds of concern ahead of the US Open

Novak Djokovic is ready for the final in Cincinnati but with only nine days left for the US Open, there are reasons for concern for the Serbs. Late in the quarterfinals required a sore elbow treatment.
