Paratriathlon will be a new branch in next year's Tokyo Paralympics. During the Paratriathlon World Cup, a test for the Olympic competitions, in Tokyo, the competition management had to cancel the swimming section. The reason is that too high doses of E.coli bacteria are measured in the water due to the recent high temperatures in the region.

High temperatures worry about the Olympics

Tokyo has recently been hit by unusually high temperatures that have harvested dozens of victims in the Japanese capital. The high temperatures have led to fears about the upcoming Olympic Games, which are decided in Tokyo. The World Cup competitions had already been arranged before to avoid the most extreme temperatures, but the swimming part was nevertheless set.

Most variations of E. coli bacteria are harmless. However, more aggressive varieties can cause stomach cramps and vomiting in some cases also kidney failure.
