Thobias Montler win in comeback - after "world result"

Thobias Montler began the season brilliantly, when he won, among other things, the Diamond League gala at Stockholm Stadium.

But shortly thereafter, his left knee was injured during a competition in the Netherlands.

Tonight was a comeback, after over two months of absence.

And what a comeback it was. In his second jump, he reached 8.17 - just five centimeters from the yearbook record he stood for in Stockholm in May, which is also a personal record for the 23-year-old.

The result was a superior victory, 53 centimeters ahead of Michel Tornéus.

- Extremely nice to feel that you still have the level in your body, says Montler.

On the women's side, there was no successful competition for 18-year-old star shot Thilde Johansson. She reached “just” 6.27, 46 inches from her year-end best. It was only sixth place.
