The Italian Felice Gimondi, winner of the three great Tours, has died

Italy lost one of its greatest champions. Cyclist Felice Gimondi died Friday, August 16, at the age of 76.

The Gazzetta dello Sport announces that he suffered a heart attack, while he was swimming Friday in Giardini Naxos in Sicily where he was on vacation.

This legend of the little queen is one of the few riders to have won the three great tours. He won the Tour de France in 1965, in his first professional season, but also the Tour of Italy (Giro) in 1967, 1969 and 1976 and the Tour of Spain (Vuelta) in 1968.
