The Orange women play the European Championship qualifiers with Russia and Slovenia this fall in the Philips Stadium and the GelreDome respectively, the KNVB announced on Tuesday.
These are the last matches of 2019 for the Orange Women. The losing World Cup finalist will take on Russia on Tuesday, October 8, first against Russia and on Tuesday, November 12, a duel awaits in Arnhem with the Slovenes.
The Orange Women played twice before at the Philips Stadium, where there is room for 35,000 spectators. In April 2018, Northern Ireland was defeated with ample figures (7-0) and in June this year, the team of national coach Sarina Wiegman was too strong for Australia in a friendly game (3-0).
The first home game of Orange in the qualifying series for the European Championships 2021 is against Turkey on Tuesday 3 September and will be played in the Abe Lenstra Stadium. In group A, the Netherlands also takes on Kosovo and Estonia.
In total there are nine groups in the European Championship qualification. The group winners and the three best numbers two directly qualify for the final tournament in England. The remaining six numbers two must play play-offs to get one of the three remaining tickets.
