The Mediapro group announced on Tuesday the filing of a complaint against the president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), Carlos Velasco Carballo , and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), as the subsidiary civil officer, for alleged improper appropriation of the material for the VAR service presentation.

Mediapro requested that the Court of First Instance of Majadahonda (Madrid) adopt "urgent precautionary measures" on assets owned and proceed to seize material that is located at the headquarters of the RFEF de la Rozas , for understanding that "The withdrawal process is being consciously dilated in the spirit of illegal appropriation."

In a statement, the Mediapro group indicated that RFEF personnel have prevented this month the withdrawal of all equipment and material from their property in the federal facilities, once the entity considered last May its agreement with LaLiga for the VAR provision.

After the RFEF then instructed him to proceed with the removal of this equipment, Mediapro agreed to do so on the 8th of this month, although "the RFEF staff" prevented it, so he informed the latter that he would do it the next day, " under penalty of going to court to report the appropriation . "

However, and according to the Mediapro statement, that day only the withdrawal of two technical tables was possible and it was proved by the professionals who came to remove it "that was being used or immediately available to do the rest of the material by the RFEF or the new winner of the VAR ".

According to Mediapro, the material of his property perfectly identified consists of seven technical tables, various wiring necessary for the provision of the service and NAS discs for storing video clips for a total market value of more than 50,000

The audiovisual group recalled that after the collaboration agreement between LaLiga and the RFEF of last February 2018, for the provision of football arbitration assistance services through video, LaLiga, commissioned by the RFEF, awarded the provision of said Mediapro service.

The heading also established that the place where such services would be provided would be determined by LaLiga. The RFEF facilities in Las Rozas (Madrid), called " VOR Space ", with restricted access so Mediapro could ensure the performance of the service was chosen as the location.

On May 29, the RFEF chose the Hawk-Eye Innovations Limited company, responsible for the VAR in the World Cup in Russia, the Champions League and the main European leagues, as the provider of VAR (video arbitration) technology for First and Second Division in the 2019-20 season.
