Daniel Schwaab has returned to PSV. The German defender left Eindhoven free of charge at the end of last season, but nevertheless signed a contract for one season on Sunday.

The thirty-year-old Schwaab wanted to return to Germany due to private circumstances, where he had maintained his fitness at SC Freiburg in recent weeks. On Sunday he decided to accept PSV's offer last season.

"It was then the right decision to go back to Germany," says Schwaab on the PSV website. "But after spending a lot of time with my wife and children for three months, the hunger is back. With the full support of my family, I now continue with great ambition at PSV."

With Timo Baumgartl, PSV already achieved a successor for Schwaab. The people of Eindhoven reportedly paid 10 million euros to VfB Stuttgart for the youth international of Germany.
