Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp demands that his team does not think too easily about the game against Norwich City on Friday at the start of the Premier League.
"Opponents like this can always be a banana peel. If you're not 100 percent focused, you slip out," Klopp said about the game, which starts at Anfield on Friday night at 9 p.m.
On paper, the duel with PhD student Norwich, who is back in the Premier League after three years, must not cause too many problems. Of the last twelve mutual duels, Liverpool won no less than ten and was not lost by 'The Reds'.
"But the first game of the season is always difficult," says Klopp. "Norwich is a team with a clear battle plan. I have a lot of respect for the club."

"We must be greedy"
The match against Norwich should be the first step for Liverpool to the first national title in a long time. The Klopp team won the Champions League last year and the fans' dream is now to become England's best again after 30 years.
Liverpool was close by last season. The eighteen-time national champion was beaten by a point by Manchester City, but the Klopp team did impress with attackers such as Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
"We must remain the team that nobody wants to play against," Klopp says. "And not because of our name, but because of the intensity with which we play. Liverpool must also be hungry and greedy after the Champions League win, that's what I ask of my boys."
Liverpool against Norwich, where eight-time Orange-international Tim Krul is the keeper, is the only match of the first round to be played on Friday. National champion Manchester City starts the Premier League on Saturday at 13.30 with a away game against West Ham United.
