Ajax coach Erik ten Hag counts on having Kasper Dolberg in the home match against FC Emmen on Saturday. The striker was injured on Tuesday in the first game visiting PAOK (2-2) in the front of the Champions League.

"If he comes out of the final training well, as I expect, then he will be available for the match against FC Emmen," said Ten Hag on Friday for the camera of Ajax TV.

Dolberg had to change himself against PAOK after half an hour of play because he ended up wrong on his hip. His replacement Klaas-Jan Huntelaar eventually made the important 2-2.

Despite the return of PAOK on the program on Tuesday, Ten Hag is not going to save players against FC Emmen, which he did in the opening phase of last season, resulting in a loss of points against Heracles Almelo (1-1). .

"The team is in a development process. We are close together. Then you put all the focus on the next match and that is FC Emmen," says the coach, who has to do without the injured Zakaria Labyad, Carel Eiting and Siem de Jong .

"Most important is that we use our own strength"

Ten Hag does not expect a simple game against FC Emmen. The Drenten have an almost completely new team compared to last season and started the competition last week with a late defeat against FC Groningen (0-1).

"The most important thing is that we use our own strength. We always do that and we will do that tomorrow. Of course you want to know something about the opponent, where their weaknesses lie, for example, but that is difficult if you have a number of names do not know."

"FC Emmen was an excellent footballing team last season. There was a lot of courage in it. They achieved a lot of points, much more than most people had predicted, and I think they will be able to do it again this season with a good organization."

The match between Ajax and FC Emmen starts on Saturday at 19.45 in the Johan Cruijff ArenA and is led by referee Serdar Gözübüyük. The team from Amsterdam hope to be revanched for the disappointing 2-2 draw of last week against Vitesse.
