Morocco's Wydad Casablanca president Said Naciri said on Thursday that his club will challenge the decision of the African Football Confederation's disciplinary committee to adopt Esperance's victory in the African Champions League.

"The decision of the disciplinary committee did not do justice to us, so we decided to go to the appeal committee because we consider our demands legitimate," he said.

After its meeting in Cairo, the committee issued several decisions, including considering Wydad a loser for the second leg of the final match held in May last year in the Rades stadium in Tunisia with a fine of $ 50,000 for refusing his players to continue the game.

Esperance took the lead in the return leg before Wydad equalized, but the referee canceled it for offside, sparking protests from the Moroccan team.
