Widow's Compensation and Dadashev Memorial Tournament

The tragic death of a Russian boxer was a real shock to the world of sport. Over the past week, many organizations and athletes have already managed to honor the memory of an athlete, and some are going to do it in the future, including the unbeatable Irishman Michael Conlan, who will hold a fight against Argentinean Diego Alberto Ruiz next Saturday.

“Conlan will come to the next battle with a patch (in memory of Dadashev. - RT ). Also many of our fighters will do. We want the memory of him to live in people, ”TASS quotes Bob Arum, head of the promotional company Top Rank.

In addition, the functionary said that his company intends to pay compensation to the widow of boxer Elizaveta Apushkina. According to Arum, this donation will not be the only one, and in the future other representatives of the organization will also support the athlete’s family.

“We will transfer $ 100 thousand to Dadashev’s widow. Also, our boxers will make their donations. In addition, athletes will donate memorabilia for a subsequent auction to provide financial assistance to the Maxim family, ”concluded Arum.

Material assistance to the family of the Russian athlete was also provided by the president of the American MMA promotion Bellator Scott Cocker. This is reported on the official page of the organization in the social network Twitter. In this case, the donation amount is not called.

“Recently, the fighting world has lost a beloved member of his family. This happened when Maxim Dadashev passed away. Please join our organization and Bellator President Scott Cocker and make a private donation to the Maxim family, ”the message reads.

Meanwhile, Russia is already planning to organize a boxing tournament in memory of Dadashev. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Boxing Federation of the country Umar Kremlev.

“We will discuss the holding of a possible tournament, I think everyone will support us, the boxers all at the same time. We will definitely make such competitions, ”said the Kremlin.

In the professional ring Dadashev held 14 fights, in 13 of which he won (10 of which - ahead of schedule). He spent his entire career in the United States, and his main achievement will be winning the title of the North American Boxing Federation (NABF). In June 2018, he knocked out Darleis Perez and received an honorary title, and in October spent his only defense. At the end of ten rounds, he took over Antonio Demarco.

The domestic athlete also performed quite successfully at the amateur level - three times he rose to the pedestal at the Russian championships (one silver and two bronzes), and also ranked second in the youth championship of the planet in 2008.
