Russian mountaineer Vasily Drozdov died in Tajikistan
Vasily Drozdov, a member of the Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing of the Arkhangelsk Region, died while climbing in the mountains of Tajikistan.
It is reported by the Agency for Sport of the Arkhangelsk region.
“Vasily Drozdov, the winner of the honorary title“ Snow Leopard ”, tragically died while climbing in the mountains of Tajikistan,” the statement reads.
It is specified that he died due to an accident on July 29: while climbing Bodhona along the Zhitenev 6A route, a terrain section collapsed.
The body of the deceased was delivered to Dushanbe. At the moment, the paperwork necessary for organizing the transportation of the body of the climber to his homeland is being carried out.
Earlier in Kamchatka, a Japanese mountaineer was killed while climbing the Kamen volcano.
