Lucinda Brand will be driving for Trek-Segafredo from next season. The Dutch, who is both road cyclist and cyclist, comes over from Team Sunweb and signs a two-year contract with her new team.
The thirty-year-old Brand will ride her field rides in the kit of Telenet Fidea Lions, a team that has a partnership with Trek. The born South Holland raced for Sunweb since 2017 and was also under contract with Rabobank-Liv for many years.
"I am transferring to Trek to realize my ambitions on the road," says Brand on the site of her new employer. "In women's cycling it is not always easy to find a team with ambitions and good facilities, but I feel that I have found the right team with Trek."
Brand, who finished second at the cyclocross world championships early this year, is still without a win this season. She finished sixth in the general classification of the Giro Rosa at the beginning of July and she recently finished fourth in La Course, which was won by Marianne Vos.
In 2013 and 2015, Brand won the national title on the road, while she also has Omloop het Nieuwsblad (2017) and three stage victories in the Giro Rosa on her honors list. In 2018 Brand was second in the Amstel Gold Race.
