The return of the sprinters under the dodger ... and a winner: the Australian Caleb Ewan for the 16th stage of the Tour de France, in Nîmes. Lotto Soudal won on Tuesday 23 July, ahead of Elia Viviani (Deceuninck-Quick Step) and Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma) at the end of a loop of some 175 km around Nîmes.
Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck) has kept his yellow jersey. This stage was also marked by the abandonment of Jakob Fuglsang (Astana) following a fall about thirty kilometers from the finish.
