As the suspect in this case, the younger son of the hockey player Arseny was held, who, after testifying, was detained and transferred to the temporary detention center for minors. However, the investigation did not apply for the arrest of 15-year-old Arseny, so he left the detention center.

“The young man was questioned in detail about the circumstances of the case, a number of necessary investigative and procedural actions were carried out with him. Taking into account the data on the identity of the suspect, his age, the investigating authorities decided to release him from the temporary detention center and not initiate a court application for the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention, ”RIA Novosti was told at the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Leningrad Region.

"I'm sure Maxim did not kill my mother"

While investigators are investigating the circumstances of the incident, family acquaintances and friends put forward their versions of the murder. In particular, some of them took part in the program “Andrey Malakhov. Live".

One of the main topics remains the discussion of the personalities of sons. Previously, many friends of the family spoke in support of the eldest son, speaking of him as a very positive young man. The same opinion is shared by his close friend, hockey player Jaroslav Oryadin.

“I'm sure Maxim did not kill mom. During the three years that I played with him, I recognized him as a calm guy, always ready to help. He has never been involved in some kind of conflict situations. I believe that Arseny could be jealous, because his brother did everything in hockey, ”said Oryadin.

Svetlana Titova, deputy director of a private school, in which the brothers studied, also expressed doubt that the eldest son may be guilty of the murder of the mother.

“Maxim had a great relationship with his mother. She called him "my Masik." He is a well-read and very intelligent boy, the exact opposite of his younger brother. Arseny, though clever, did not want to learn. Psychologically, he was strange. Irina was called to school only because of him, he did not get along in the past and came over to us, ”said Titova.

Agreed with a similar point of view and the famous hockey commentator Andrei Shestakov. According to him, "Maxim was a good and calm boy."

“He loved the mother who was leaving him. It was a difficult time: the child took punctures from the spine, he suffered, but did not give up. Like the whole family, ”said the journalist.

Drugs and Father's Involvement

During the program, one of the participants suggested that the offender could be under the influence of drugs or psychotropic drugs. This was stated by a close friend of Irina Sokolova, Anna Nikitina.

“The children were on some pills. Because a child without some kind of chemical exposure would hardly have done it, ”the woman suggested.

However, this version was met with skepticism. So, Shestakov expressed confidence that Maxim did not use drugs.

“I definitely don’t believe that the eldest son takes drugs and committed this crime under the influence of psychotropic drugs. In hockey in general, this is rare. And even more so among the goalkeepers, ”the commentator replied.

Agreed with him and the rites. According to him, Maxim Sokolov, Jr. could not take drugs, because he monthly analyzes in the hockey team.

At the same time, Nikitina herself also suggested that the father of the family allegedly could have been involved in the murder, Maxim Sokolov, the eldest. According to her, the couple often quarreled, and the former goalkeeper behaved very aggressively.

“Something else is unknown, maybe some third option. It is unlikely that children attacked her. Maybe a husband. Maybe the guys are covering him up. He often beat her literally to the blood. Could easily hit her in the car on the way to the country. Apparently, she was accustomed to this violence and did not resist, ”said Nikitina.

It is noteworthy that the neighbor of the Sokolov family, Pavel Margarian, said that he had heard an unknown person leaving the hockey player’s house on the day of the murder.

“When everything happened, I was in my garage and suddenly I heard somewhere on the street:“ A bloody worker came out of Maxim’s house. ” Personally, I have not seen anything, ”hurried to explain Margaryan.

Inconsistencies in the testimony of Arseny

At the same time, forensic scientist Mikhail Ignatov focused on finding inconsistencies in the testimony of Arseny. Initially, Maxim was considered the main suspect, but due to confusion in the younger brother’s data, the investigation drew conclusions about his possible involvement in the murder.

“The investigators should have a lot of questions to Arseny. At first he told that he jumped out into the street, called a neighbor. Then there was the phrase: "I heard the cry of my mother." But after such a blow it could not be. Only wheezing, ”explained the criminologist.

Ignatov expressed the opinion that the death of Irina Sokolova came instantly, and also tried to explain a large number of marks on the floor.

“The one who did this, began to run, not understanding what had happened. It seems that the killer was definitely under the influence of a psychotropic substance, or it is schizophrenia, ”Ignatov noted.
