Two months in custody: the court ordered the arrest of Kokorin and Mamaev

The scandal involving Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev reached the next level. The football players detained on the eve of the police for the first time appeared before the court. Hearings were held in the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow to discuss further preventive measures for the participants of the attack on the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Pak, the head of the NAMI Sergei Gaysin and the driver of the First Channel leading Olga Ushakova - Vitaly Solovchuk.

Alexander Kokorin was charged under Article 213 of Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - “Hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior agreement”. The same charge was brought against Pavel Mamayev and the younger brother of the Zenit attacker, 19-year-old Kirill Kokorin.

Participants in the incident were facing imprisonment. With such a petition to the court turned the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

“Today, after carrying out a number of investigative actions in the framework of the investigation of the criminal case, the investigation plans to issue a petition to the court to elect the Kokorin and Pavel Mamayev brothers a preventive measure in the form of detention,” the press service of the Moscow police said.

The media reported that the Kokorin and Mamayev case would be brought to court on Friday, October 12, and confronting the victims and other investigative measures should have taken place the day before. However, in the end, the court hearings took place late on Thursday.

Before the defendants were taken to court, they shared comments about the case with the press. Mamaev confessed to immoral behavior and told how the interrogation took place, which lasted until four in the morning.

“To be honest, in all the episodes I behaved immorally. We are to blame for everything. I myself agreed to investigative actions at night. So there are no complaints. I wanted to quickly deal with all this. The interrogation was long, I told everything, did not hide anything. Yes, and there was it possible to deny something? We did not use drugs. I do not understand why, but for the rest of the night they drove us to the emergency room. And nowhere did they accept us, as the escorts said, ”the midfielder of Krasnodar told Moskovsky Komsomolets.

Alexander Kokorin did not lose his temper and joked, and also complained about the actions of the investigators.

“Everything is inflated. We drank only beer. But all this after the game, a sleepless night, and that is what happened. I admitted that I regret. There are no chairs here, and all the benches are nailed to the floor - if the chairs were screwed in like this, nothing would have happened. All this is unpleasant. One of the investigators insulted us, called "scum" - shared the attacker.

During the hearings, the victims shared their testimony. Denis Pak said that he was beaten on the grounds of national hatred.

“He sat down at the table, waited for a colleague. At the next table, racially motivated bullying began, singing songs of a Korean artist (PSY - note RT ). I demanded to stop bullying. Instead, two people approached and hit me. The beatings were inflicted on me from national hatred, ”the official said.

Solovchuk, a citizen of Belarus, also spoke about the attack from the players and their friends. From his words it appeared that the attackers knocked him to the ground and then continued beating him. As a result, Solovchuk was taken to intensive care with traumatic brain injury and concussion.

Also in court were heard testimony friend Pak. According to him, the players after the attack continued to threaten and said: "You are lucky that you are still alive."

Then the defendants were heard. Alexander Kokorin stated that he repents of his actions and asked not to arrest him.

“I apologize to the victims, I repent of my deed. I am ashamed in front of the fans and the club. I apologize for my unworthy deed. My behavior was unacceptable, I will do everything to earn forgiveness. I ask you not to deprive me of my freedom and give me the opportunity to make amends, ”Kokorin said.

Pavel Mamaev made the same request and explained his position.

“The investigating authorities appeared independently, he does not intend to hide. Pak, I did not beat. I ask you not to deprive me of my freedom, since then the Krasnodar football club will break the contract with me. I am ready to help the investigation, I am ready to hand over the international passport, I will not hide anywhere. I want to publicly apologize to all the victims. I had no right to allow myself that. I am ready to make up for all the moral and material damage, ”the footballer said.

His lawyer added that a number of the enclosed documents contradicted the main material evidence - recordings from surveillance cameras. He noted that the suspect has a wife and dependent children.

Protection Mamaeva insisted on his innocence in the episode with Pak. At the same time, Kirill Kokorin earlier in his speech accused the midfielder of Krasnodar in beating Solovchuk.

“Mamaev took the man by the hand with his throat, the man began to run away. Mamayev, Kokorin, Kuropatkin ran after him. Mamaev hit him, "- said the brother of the football player" Zenith ".

The Kokorin brothers appeared before the court before Mamaev, and the decision on them was made earlier. The petition of the investigation of their detention was granted. Alexander and Cyril will stay under arrest until December 8, 2018. An hour later, a similar decision was made in respect of Mamaev. In court, they considered that if they were at liberty, football players could hide, put pressure on the victims and prevent the investigation.

Oleg Koporin’s lawyer, Oleg Popov, said he would seek a review of the decision to arrest his client.

“There could be no talk of any pledge. The decision will be appealed, you will learn about it. We will give more serious reasons. I hope this will affect the preventive measure. Alexander feels satisfactory. For him, the decision was expected. Holds flint, ”said Popov.

Mamaev’s lawyer Igor Bushmanov will appeal the decision. He called the actions of the court "unnecessarily cruel."
