“In the 88th year of his life, Renald Ivanovich Knysh died - honored trainer of the BSSR and the USSR, an honorary citizen of Grodno. During his work as a coach, he invented about 30 new elements in gymnastics, for which he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Coach of the USSR in 1964, ”the press service of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus said in a statement.

Knysh coached Olympic champions Elena Volchetskaya and Olga Korbut, as well as USSR champion Tamara Alekseeva.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian national team won the medal credit at the European Championships in gymnastics.
