Al-Ahli of Egypt, who holds the record number of titles (eight), topped the first group with a spectacular victory, on the first day yesterday, at home to Kampala City of Uganda 4-3 in the sixth round and final of the group stage.

Al-Ahly secured his penalty for the quarter-finals with Espérance Sportive Tunisie, ahead of the latter with a two-game lead. But on Sunday, he finished the group stage two points ahead of the Tunisian side's draw with Botswana's Township Rollers.
