Ryan Babel has finished his transfer from Besiktas to Fulham on Tuesday. The Dutch national team will sign with the Premier League club for six months.
The transition from the 32-year-old Babel from Turkey to England was already in the air, although it was expected that he would make the switch on a rental basis. That is not the case.
"I am confident that Fulham will continue, which is one of the reasons I am here, and I want to do my part", says Babel about his new club, which is in the Premier League in penultimate.
Besiktas had liked to keep Babel, whose contract ended after this season, in Istanbul. Both parties talked about contract extension, but did not come out.
For the attacker it will be the second time he will play in the Premier League. Babel played for Liverpool from 2007 to 2011, which took him from Ajax. He then played for Hoffenheim, again Ajax, Al-Ain, Deportivo La Coruña and thus Besiktas.
