Regarding the earthquake that occurred near the Syrian border in southern Turkey, unfounded comments such as ``a tsunami occurred'' and ``a nuclear power plant exploded'' are spreading along with the video on SNS.

The Turkish and Syrian authorities have not reported the occurrence of tsunamis or nuclear power plant accidents, and the media of each country are calling for attention.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in southern Turkey just after 4:00 a.m. local time on the 6th and after 10:00 a.m. Japan time on the 6th.

After the earthquake, along with the video, posts such as "a tsunami occurred in Turkey" and "a nuclear power plant exploded due to this earthquake" were posted one after another on Twitter, spreading such information.

Among the diffusing images, there is also an image that seems to be the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

Such information is posted in multiple languages, including Japanese and English.

However, no tsunami or nuclear power plant accident has been reported by the Turkish or Syrian authorities so far.

In response to these posts, Twitter also pointed out that the information was incorrect, saying, ``It is a video of a past disaster, not a video of an earthquake in Turkey.''

The media and organizations in each country are calling attention to the spread of false information when a disaster strikes.
