He called on people to refrain from going out unnecessarily and urgently.

On the morning of the 22nd, the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Niigata Local Meteorological Observatory held a press conference in Niigata City and made an "emergency announcement" due to heavy snow.



Among them, the Japan Meteorological Observatory said that from the 23rd to the 24th, cold air stronger than this time, which was a record heavy snowfall, will move southward and the winter-type pressure pattern will strengthen again, causing heavy snow along the mountains in Niigata Prefecture, and even on the plains. He predicted that there would be heavy snowfall.



For this reason, the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has implemented preventive measures against heavy snow for a total of 12 sections of national highways and highways in the prefecture, including National Routes 8 and 17, where traffic jams and stranded people occurred due to this heavy snow. He indicated that there is a possibility that the road may be closed to traffic, and that it will be announced as soon as it is decided.



After that, the Japan Meteorological Observatory and the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau called on people to refrain from going out unnecessarily due to heavy snow.
