In Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture, where a bridge collapsed due to heavy rain, police were scheduled to start a search on the morning of the 4th after receiving a report that a car running on the bridge was washed away on the 3rd. It is dangerous to approach the high water level, so we are checking it from a safe place near the downstream.

According to the police and others, around 6:00 pm on the 3rd, there was a report that the "Omaki Bridge" over Prefectural Route 10 in the Koshirakawa area of ​​Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture collapsed and one car was washed away.



The person who made the report said that when he was approaching the scene by car, the bridge suddenly collapsed, and the car that was running on the opposite lane on the bridge was washed away by the river.



In addition, he said that he did not know whether there were people on board other than the driver's seat.



According to Yamagata Prefecture, the collapsed bridge is more than 24 meters long and 5.5 meters wide and is made of reinforced concrete.



The search was not possible on the 3rd due to the high water level of the river, and the police were planning to start the search from the morning of the 4th. We are checking within the range that can be seen from a safe place.



On the other hand, the police are continuing to check the situation, as several residents in the area have reported that their families have not returned.
