67 people have been killed in Kumamoto prefecture, including disaster-related deaths, and it has been four days and two years since the record heavy rains that left the two missing.

A memorial service was held in Hitoyoshi City and other places, and prayers were offered to the victims.

The record heavy rains in July flooded the Kuma River, killing 67 people, including disaster-related deaths, and the whereabouts of the two are still unknown.

Of these, in Hitoyoshi City, where 21 people died, a memorial service was held from 10 am on the 3rd, and 26 people including the bereaved family attended and silently prayed to the victims at the beginning.

After this, Mayor Hayato Matsuoka of Hitoyoshi City said, "The heavy rain changed the calm daily life, and the muddy stream rushed in and caused catastrophic damage. I pledge to continue my best efforts toward a city where I can live with peace of mind." Said.

Then, Yoshinori Nagao, who lost his father Makoto, spoke on behalf of the bereaved family.

In this, Mr. Nagao said, "I still remember the regret that I couldn't help my father who protected his family because of the great flood in 1965."

After that, he stated his determination for reconstruction, "I hope I can help him with a little effort to make him a lively Hitoyoshi."

After this, the attendees turned to the flowers and prayed to the victims.
